Just like Australia here cases will continue to go unreported (as there is no testing), but - as covid is nowhere near being over - deaths will continue to increase and nothing. will. be. done.

Also 'other' diseases, caused by covid, like heart conditions, stroke and cancer will continue to go up, but. nothing. will. be. done.

Not sure what the takeaway from this is, as they start by saying 50% of Canadians experience long covid symtoms, but then they start talking about special clinics devoted to it (as if that would help - also, when is it really a 'special' clinic if HALF the population, so far, need it?).

So effectively minimal to non-existent protection against infection. I fear we have reached the limits with vaccination with this generation of vaccines.

It's effectively #SARS3. Hopefully if we start with XBB1.5 we may have better results, but with the speed at which these variants are being generated, due to uncontrolled transmission, we have no chance of catching up.

There's also imprinting/OAS which might neuter new vaccines.

I think it's fairly clear without stopping transmission, there's going to be no medical intervention that will last.

The evolution of this into effectively #sars3 and beyond with zero effective treatments should scare any rational person.

If by some miracle, we get an intervention that works perfectly, we still have to rapidly distribute it, before the virus evolves past it.

Not saying it's impossible, but it would be very foolish to bet on it.

@yaneerbaryam @whn The element of creating immune dysregulation, creating new vulnerabilities to existing viruses and bacteria is the part of the story being left out.
People dying of pneumonia - after a covid infection - because they have no immunity, and then not attributing it to what is effectively airborne AIDS is the new propaganda. #SARS3 is one thing, but if people understood the analogy to AIDS maybe they wouldn't treat it as innocuously.
