Plop, plop, buzz, buzz - went the bees into the hive box. We watched for the #Saskatraz Queen the whole time (she has a pink dot on her), but we didn't see her. Towards the end, fewer bees on the tree, the bees on top of the box put their little butts in the air - signaling. /4

We changed out the queen's deep super this afternoon, added a new deep super, & put all on a new base board. (Old base board was disgusting.) I think we need a new lid, too! 😅 Geeze... At least they were pretty tame. We were sweatin'. 🥵 #saskatraz #bees #beekeeping #honey #beesofmastodon

The good news is, I've ordered a #Saskatraz queen and 5-frame #nuc, which I have to pick up in May. So, we will have bees again soon!
