Interesting Jodrell Bank fact. The main satellite at Jodrell Bank was used by to track Russian launches during the space race. Russia eventually clocked onto this and didn’t shut it down but quite the opposite, they asked for the data! Lovell somehow managed to maintain a relationship between the US and Russia during sensitive times. He was at one point even invited to Russia and invited to defect, he went to Russia but turned down the defection offer! #russia #satelleite #jodrellbank
