@Syulang @mekkaokereke @carnage4life @DLR

OFC just took the tech stack that all the other used...

Personally, I wished @BNetzA would enforce providers to not illegally bundle tariffs with devices as per §73 TKG...

Because the lack of enforced standardization turns a lot of equipment into expensive and bulky paperweights for no good reason.

: "The power of the technology, which has helped push the value of closely held SpaceX to nearly $140 billion, is just beginning to be felt.

Starlink is often the only way to get internet access in war zones, remote areas and places hit by natural disasters. It is used in Ukraine for coordinating drone strikes and intelligence gathering. Activists in Iran and Turkey have sought to use the service as a hedge against government controls. The U.S. Defense Department is a big Starlink customer, while other militaries, such as in Japan, are testing the technology.

But Mr. Musk’s near total control of satellite internet has raised alarms.

A combustible personality, the 52-year-old’s allegiances are fuzzy. While Mr. Musk is hailed as a genius innovator, he alone can decide to shut down Starlink internet access for a customer or country, and he has the ability to leverage sensitive information that the service gathers. Such concerns have been heightened because no companies or governments have come close to matching what he has built."

@jebba @nixCraft That being said is insecure as f**k and the only reason there hasn't been any of is because it's extremely expensive to get an array of 3-axis stabilized antennas and Ka-Band LNBs with BUCs to do so.

How do you feel about

I was camping in Wyoming last summer and was weirded out by what I later learned was a Starlink train of low-orbit satellites. It was spooky!

If you're a current user, did your recent email about monthly pricing include a price increase or decrease?

I'm curious how many out there actually got the $20/month price decrease by being in an "excess capacity" area.

@ghostinthenet one time I setup a "reload in 15" on some network gear that was satellite connected and made some big changes. Unfortunately the switch wasn't saved beforehand so a critical VLAN for new config stopped existing and I had to fly up to Northern Manitoba the next day!!!

Another time I did similar, but there was either no config saved prior, or confreg set to not save.... Needless to say I had to ship a router overnight to get the series of tower sites back online.
