The annual #SATShow rocket roundtable, moderated today by @Sandra_I_Erwin, with:
ULA CEO Tory Bruno
SpaceX VP of Commercial Sales Tom Ochinero
Arianespace CEO Stephane Israel
Rocket Lab $RKLB Senior Director Richard French
Blue Origin VP of Commercial Sales Ariane Cornell
A #SatShow panel on launch services reminded me of how amazingly opaque Blue Origin remains at basic stuff. As in, they have a contract signed with NASA to launch the Escapade mission to Mars in late 2024 on their New Glenn rocket, which has not yet flown.
So when will that first launch happen? "We're going to fly when we're ready," Blue Origin v.p. Ariane Cornell said. Will Escapade be the first New Glenn launch? "I can tell you that it will be an early New Glenn mission."

Deputy Sec. of Commerce Don Graves announces at the #satshow luncheon a change in export licensing for satellite components to MTCR partners; applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis rather than have a presumption of denial.

Rocket Lab's Richard French on a #satshow panel on the space economy: if the answer is thousands of satellites, it's possible you've asked the wrong question.
Now that I'm back in D.C., I'm switching event gears from SXSW to Satellite 2023, so expect a lot less taco talk and much more space banter. #satshow https://www.satshow.com/program/

Relativity's Tim Ellis says on a #satshow panel this morning he hears concerns from customers about a lack of available medium- to heavy-lift in 2024-27; demand grows and issues about new vehicles entering service and ramping up. Launch prices escalating as a result.
