John Hewson has an excellent essay in today's #SaturdayPaper which has removed the paywall for articles about the #VoiceToParliament — so you can share this far and wide.

#saturdaypaper The Pearson interview: ‘How does the elephant sit down with the mouse’
Worth noting. This statement was posted at the top of the article stating: "From now until referendum day, we have removed the paywall on all Voice coverage. Read and share this article for free."
So here it is. #VoteYes
Rick Morton in #SaturdayPaper 8/7/23: "Scott Morrison. Kathryn Campbell. Alan Tudge. Stuart Robert. Malisa Golightly. Annette Musolino. Serena Wilson. Jonathan Hutson. Mark Withnell. Paul McBride. Emma Kate McGuirk. Karen Harfield. Jason McNamara. Craig Storen.
These are the names of the politicians and public servants who lied, dissembled and participated in the active cover-up of a multibillion-dollar fraud carried out against more than 400,000 disadvantaged Australians, motivated by “venality, incompetence and cowardice”."
Couldn't have said it better myself.

Michael Pascoe: "When the coalition of peak Indigenous bodies and every community housing body – through the self-interest of at least getting something down the line – are begging for the HAFF to pass, the Greens’ intransigence looks more about its political desire to harvest the votes of young renters than to provide more housing."
Looks like that to me as well, and judging from Paul Bonjiorno's comments in this weeks #SaturdayPaper , he feels the same way. No wonder #AlboMP is pissed off.

#SaturdayPaper #Editorial Takes aim at Peta Credlin and The Oz.
"The [Australian] is untroubled by a court finding it true that Ben Roberts-Smith kicked an elderly shepherd off a cliff and then had him shot. It is untroubled by evidence he ordered another man be killed while he was being questioned. It doesn’t care that he machine-gunned a man to death and then took his prosthetic leg as a novelty drinking vessel.
"The Australian pretends it is taking a nuanced position, that it has wrestled with complexity and is publishing what others won’t. This is nonsense. Its coverage of Ben Roberts-Smith is identical to its coverage of climate change. It is contrarian to the point of incoherence. It mistakes its agenda for doubt and treats this error as a virtue."
And for Ben Roberts Smith? He is a victim alright. Of his hubris and of his own actions.

A damning consequence in this article by Rick Morton (squigglyrick):
People lost jobs or family through the devastating spiral caused by financial wounds, their physical and mental health conditions worsened. Others were ground down to nothing while attempting to flee domestic violence.

Why does a paper like the Saturday Paper, whose authors express socially progressive views and are well aware of anthropogenic climate change, still publishes all these meaty recipes? Today it’s coq au vin. It’s the reason why I don’t buy the #SaturdayPaper. For the same reason I don’t subscribe or donate to the #Guardian.
#AnimalAgriculture is a major contributor to climate change, and they know it.
