NOT A MOTH POST. No mothing last night as the weather was atrocious. But mothman has other passions to pursue, one of which is running. I say ‘running’, it’s more a case of who can move slower, me … or a slug?! But I do it because I love it and it keeps my ravishing body all lithe and lissome. Beautiful 6km round the park … plenty of inclines, descents, twists and turns and lots of trees, plants, squirrels and waterfowl to enjoy.

Today I got cadence lock.

No, not discombobulated knees, but my #Garmin HR locking onto my cadence steps per minute.

When my HR went UP to 185 running downhill, I was either about to blow out for good ... or my watch was up the bloody creek again. Kept occurring all run. But damn useless technology aside, it was a wonderful run as always, if a little fresh at 3C with a northerly breeze.

Real runners do it in all weathers.

Saw more out today in storm force gales and face-ripping rain than I see any morning of the week. There's something magical about battling the elements.

9km (7km uphill, 2km downhill), 146m/480ft elevation gain, 40mph winds and rain so hard it exfoliated.

Buy, oh my giddy aunt, it was amazing!

Fit(ish) in my 50s. Managed to avoid the rain but not the stiff breeze which buffeted me north, south, east and west. Practically running on the spot uphill at maximum exertion in some places. Moderate 146m / 480ft elevation gain 10km in mild 11C / 52F. Felt colder in 30mph winds though. But as always, never disappointing and always finish with a smile … because you never know when it might be your last!

Today’s cross-country clifftop trail #run is brought to you courtesy of sunrises, impossibly icy paths, and rocks to leap. The treachery was strong today! A bit of walking and clinging to gorse down that icy path was required, despite some lacerations to my knees and thighs! 😅 Minus 2 degrees, 168m/550ft elevation gain.

3C / 37F and an easterly breeze that could slice through granite. But if there are two things more impenetrable than granite it’s the little 28” tree trunks that hang from my torso.

Annoyingly, yet again #Garmin GPS was slow to lock on and ticked off each km 120m short. Not remotely important but just wish it was more accurate because I like data to be correct.
