Sauropod winners: I have to draw Magyarosaurus and am feeling lost - so little data to work from. The convention seems to be rendering a small Saltosaurus-type animal and hoping for the best. Is that the least-worst route to take right now? (Unrelated sauropod #paleoart below)

More WIP #paleoart for the Palaeogames book: Carcharodontosaurus vs. Rebbachisaurus. Like so many living prey animals, Rebbachisaurus has taken to water to escape predation and, like so many living prey animals, they're discovering that this tactic often fails.

#Isisaurus simply walks into Mordor.

More new #paleoart at #Patreon for #FossilFriday! Tyrannosaurus takes on a giant Alamosaurus. Alamosaurus laughs. Sauropods really do win this time.

I'm pretty slammed with work at the moment so finding time for my own (= book) work is challenging, but here's my current #dinosaur #paleoart WIP: Alamosaurus hulking out at the local theropod vermin. Should have made it green.

Five years ago yesterday saw the start of the NHM's "Dippy on Tour" campaign that launched at Dorset Museum. I did a big Diplodocus #paleoart mural for the exhibition and was invited to opening events to chat dinosaurs with the press, esp. BBC radio. The mural is a heavily modified version of the PR image done for @mike Taylor and colleagues' paper on sauropod neck posture, which you can read here: https://www.app.pan.pl/archive/published/app54/app54-213.pdf

@Gizz47 and I have just put a framed Titanosaurus #paleoart scene by @john in our hallway: it's basically the first thing you see when you enter our house now. The image is from John's recent book "A History of Painting (with Dinosaurs)", which you can read all about here: http://markwitton-com.blogspot.com/2022/12/book-review-john-conways-history-of.html, and buy from links here: https://johnconway.art/a_history_of_painting

I'm illustrating a dinosaur book at the moment, and I've decided that sauropods are the most fun to paint.

Lots of signups here at Sauropods.win (and in the Fediverse in general) overnight. Some tips for newcomers:
Fill in you bio, and do an introductory post with the hashtag "introduction". People are on the lookout for them.
Hashtags are the only searchable text here, and are followable too, so they are really important
There's no algorithm. You absolutely need to follow people to see stuff. So follow lots of people. Don't worry about unfollowing later, it's understood.
