According to a German folk tale I've read, the sausages made in Schmalkalden had pig's brains as one of the ingredients...
...and now I can't help wondering whether this is still the case, and how many sausages these days use the brains of animals as part of their ingredients.
(For the record, this is not portrayed as anything secret or shameful in the tale.)

Not sure if this dish has a name, but it wasn't bad at all. #Recipe 😋 Stripped the skin off four Cumberland sausages and fried them in white wine, and added tenderstem broccoli, shallots, cherry tomatoes, garlic and half a green chilli. The stock is some vegetable bouillon, with melted butter, and a little pasta water. Will definitely be having that again! #Food #Pasta #Sausage
