I'm delighted to discover that #ManAndTheEarth by #PatrickDuncan, published in 1975, was reprinted in 2015 & is still in print in paperback. (I have sent off for a copy & will review for '#Greeneralia' in due course.

His 'Geism' was understood at the time to be introducing a philosophical element into the ecological movement. But seen from 2023, his primary insight was about uniting #Global South/North to act in time to #saveplanetearth.

An idea whose time has definitely come?

I suggest that meat and dairy is taxed like cigarettes and alcohol, with the proceeds used to subsidise highly nutritious vegan meals.

Immediate benefits include an huge reduction in methane gas, better health for all, rewilding of vast areas, animals no longer put through hell & then slaughtered.
A win for all - humans, animals & planet Earth. What's not to like?

The extremism of the "Last Generation" is toxic and dangerous because it's an emotional and apocalyptic mind set. Yet its existence is important to understand that there's a another way of science based thinking to save our planet.
