Several of my #FirstNations friends & colleagues have been in the fight for much longer. The funding is needed. However, the funds won't help to save/protect #WildSalmon in #BritishColumbia if #BCNDP government still allows mass #destruction & #pollution of #salmon #habitats . FYI, #OldGrowth #forests are essential for wild salmon survival & vice versa. Salmon are also a #KeystoneSpecies here.

This was after a VERY long day of travels, picking up a hereditary Chief, trespassing into corporate property, documenting violations from MOWI International & checking in to Tofino Marina hotel at end of day. We went up to support the #ClayoquotAction #SaveWildSalmon #flotilla #protest & tried out our drums after warming them up for about an hour. We smoked a joint & crashed after this.

Several of us in #Saanich are upset about this. We don't know how feds got away w/violating protection of garry oak trees in #CuthbertHolmes & #ColquitzRiver #SaanichParks. Cuthbert Holmes park has a covenant from orginal donor - park is to be perpetually protected & no old growth trees or any garry oaks cut. They clearcut a few hillsides. Hardly any salmon came through river since ecosystem was destroyed. I'm trying to get some answers from municipal government.
