#Christmas has becoming commercialized and secularization because we #Christians have allowed it. We've allowed our #ChristmasMusic tradition to be swamped by songs about Santa and snow.

The reason that #Xmas exists is because we have designated Dec 25 as the feast day which we celebrate the #VirginBirth of the #Savior.

This year Xmas is on Sunday. Your Xmas tradition should begin not with a tree, presents, or a breakfast feast, but a glorious #divine #service. Celebrate Christmas in #church!

One thing I love about the #Lutheran (#LCMS) tradition is the music. This song is special in two ways:

1. It's a verification of #Mary's magnicifat, which she sang when she heard the news of the #Savior to be born from her, a #Virgin.

2. The tune is by Italian composer Giovanni Giacomo Gastoldi. Its has a joyful "hop" to it, very fitting for the subject matter.
