When holidaying in #Istria we always do a section, or two, of the #Parenzana trail, the old #Trieste 🇮🇹 and #Koper 🇸🇮 to #Poreč 🇭🇷 narrow gauge railway line, built during Habsburg times, and converted into a hiking and cycling route. Today: near #Croatia’s western tip #Savudrija.

The #Parenzana cycling and hiking trail in #Istria 🇭🇷, on the trackbed of the disused (and dismantled) #Trieste to #Poreč narrow gauge line.
Some remnants of the railway infrastructure are still in place, like the #Salvore #Savudrija station building and a number of mileposts.
