@latimes There are so many underlying issues related to . The expansion of how "gravely disabled" is defined is not the answer. @SenSusanEggman seems to mean well but she + coauthors must seriously consider rewording, changing and removing terms in her proposal. Involuntary holds are necessary in many severe cases BUT 'tis not a crime to simply have mental illness.

Arkansas’s state senate just approved , which essentially designates dressing in any gender “atypical”clothing as “adult” performance.

Women in pants.
Men wearing bracelets.

Creepy politicians need to stop sexualizing everyone based on their clothes.

Okay, and with experience in cases and who might be more familiar with law: A friend of mine is a performer, and occasionally travels to Fayetteville to perform. They're worried about the potential impact of Arkansas on their livelihood. I'd argue that most all drag performances aren't intended to and don't in fact appeal to the prurient interest, so SB43 would be difficult to enforce. I welcome any other feedback/thoughts.

Senator @clarketucker@twitter.com speaks out against anti-LGBTQ law :

“25% of the kids in our state don’t know how they’re gonna eat dinner tonight… The people of Arkansas sent us down here to make better laws than this.”
