And on the subject of archives - Anybody else use #Letterboxd? It’s an amazing indie movie catalogue/community/recommendation algorithm. I’ve been watching its following suggestions, rating them, and seeing how the suggestions change. You can filter based on the platforms you subscribe to, including #IView, #SBSOnDemand, etc. Tonight I finally watched Frances Ha, so great and witty. Last night I watched It Could Happen To You: cheesy but heartwarming. #NowWatching (I’ve no affiliation, I just think it’s cool :))

Enjoyed watching Episode 1 of #MichaelPalin: Into Iraq on #SBSOnDemand tonight. His journey started in #Diyarbakir, Eastern #Turkey, which I visited in 1990. And then, he crossed into the autonomous #Kurdish-controlled #Kurdistan of northern #Iraq. It's hard to reconcile the joyous celebrations of #Newroz with the news footage of war-torn Iraq. But it was also uplifting! 🕊

We’ve been watching #Infiniti on #SBSOnDemand. It’s really well done and engaging! A space agency thriller based in Kazakhstan.

Recently re-watched the first three seasons of #Borgen (in preparation for watching the latest one). Just started watching #Limbo (on #sbsondemand) and Sidse Babett Knudsen is doing a Scottish accent. Absolutely amazing.

Anyway, in #cinema briefly is GLASS ONION: A KNIVES OUT MYSTERY - yes, it’s coming to #netflix but also your opportunity to see Janelle Monae in a variety of outstanding fashion choices. My favourite being when they stepped out of their car on the wharf in the first act. Reader, I gasped. Of course I can’t find a still of that moment, so here’s another where they are looking typically stunning in a suit.

On #itunes in #Aus, I finally got the chance to see AFTER YANG for 99c. How did I miss this in cinema? Beautiful and playful with the editing on how we recall our memories.

I’ll probably try to get to SHE SAID this week and I see A RAISIN IN THE SUN (which I have never seen) is about to leave #SBSonDemand soon.

Ok so #SBS in Australia does great work - they are one of the few channels that has people of colour on their shows before 9pm … look the bar is in hell ok, I have to give them some props.

To that end, you can support them by watching one of their #films on their OnDemand #streaming service instead - they’ll still get the numbers but you won’t be watching the cup.

To that end, today’s film, No Hard Feelings, has like maybe one scene of #football in it? Anyway it’s a story about two men finding love - one a Iranian refugee living with his sister in a detention centre, the other a volunteer who shares culture with them but a generation removed as a 2nd gen German. Drawn together while the immigration status of one overshadows their love.
