@Tierno158 I have actually solved this for humanity. As a #scholar of the 80’s and 90’s I grew up right in the middle of the Malone Era. I have spent more time Post Malone than Malone proper. Pre-Malone is tough. I was born in 79 and don’t have any personal experiences I can recall.

After #Renaissance #humanism took hold (& its idea to do away with #medieval complexities in #theology), the once celebrated followers of Scotism (“Dunses”), were now seen as pedantic & unintellectual.

I never cease to be amazed at how utterly useless the average #scholar is at #citing a scholarly work correctly, especially works on the web. Reading something now which is basically an orgy of reference rot. URLs containing temporaral session ids, URLs with parameters when a DOI is available, and so it goes.

Basic understanding of the web just doesn't seem to exist -- which is a very depressing indicator of the #digitalliteracy competency of the average scholar. 😬 What can be done?

Sooo today was the day I found out that my PhD alma mater went ahead and entirely deleted my #google #scholar account! 😂/😭 Was updating my website with my new mastodon link, and noticed a 404...

They downgraded alumni accounts a while back - no more Drive, very little gmail storage, etc etc, which, fair, I guess. To an extent.

Sure would have been nice to know this'd affect scholar profiles tied to the school's email as well. Especially if access to that email remains. 🤔

Ideas and learning might be what’s bringing me the most joy lately. I just ordered this book by my new disability justice hero Aimi Hamraie. It’s called Building Access:
Universal Design and the Politics of Disability.

Aimi Hamraie is a professor who lives in Nasheville, and I learned about them in a lecture for my disability justice and accessible design certificate. They have a thrilling lecture that I want to watch again and again about design. I think I’m turning into a slut for design.

A cool thing is that Aimi Hamraie has an interest in permaculture. I suspect that they might have co-evolved something like Disabled Resilience Permaculture over in Tennessee.

Nulcear Nuevo Mexico by Myrriah Gómez is a book I recently bought that lights the fire of my mind also. Here it is on my altar before I started reading it.

How could that much crying bring me so much joy? Probably you know how there are so many kinds of joy.

Nothing like the truth to wipe that ignorance off of me. The truth hurts, but ignorance hurts more insidiously.

Neo-Freudian anthropologist #ErnestBecker was my introduction to scholarly thinking. That & my biblical studies led me to understanding how #scholarship could ask questions, but it wasn't until I returned to college & got farther along that I understood that much scholarship in the #humanities spends time uncovering causes rather than providing answers. #Research in #SocialSciences provides answers - that are often common sense, which only proves we are a limited species.
