Any modernists out there? In their commentary to Vol. 1 of The Poems of T. S. Eliot , Ricks and McCue note that Eliot disliked the US Complete Poems and Plays (1952), but cite no source. Does anyone know where this comes from?

Sydney University Press asked me for an endorsement of The Letters of Charles Harpur and his Circle, edited by Paul Eggert and Chris Vening. I called it "a masterclass in new documentary editing". I'm secretly hoping the term catches on.

I wish I knew this already, but I don't: if anyone out there has done a scholarly edition of novel for a publisher, how do you work out the timeline in your proposal? Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

Textual Scholars:
I am writing something on parallel text editions (like the Norton edition of Wordsworth's The Prelude, 1799, 1805, 1850) and could use your suggestions.
I am looking for the earliest instance of a parallel text edition in English.
I'd also be interested to know which parallel text edition you consider the best (and why) and which is the most used.
