A few choices long ago in my teens I still hate myself for.
Because I knew what I was doing, I knew it was a bad choice, and knew it was (in part) peer pressure.
And I still did it, and I still hate myself for doing it. And looking back I still don't know if it was the right thing or not.
In the extended run of my life up to now it had no affect on my life at the moment.
But it's part of the tapestry of friends, foes, peers and it all.

A lot of #schooling is dressing up intuitive concepts with fancy vocab and then rote memorization/recall of said vocab

The next four semesters I sat in the back of my classrooms and read #books, sometimes on subject and sometimes not

My grades didn’t suffer, and I actually began to #learn

Call me a radical utopian or whatever, but if schools so regularly and systematically allow armed children to attempt acts of mass murder, might that be a big sign we need to consider the abolition of schooling? Is it really such a stretch to suggest that, perhaps, an institution of systematized control and surveillance working hand in hand with the violent state *might* produce the textbook preconditions for stochastic terror attacks?
Sure, capitalism is bad and imposes a lot of pressure on young people specifically, there's no question about that, but a framework of "capitalism" that doesn't recognize the role of schooling in maintaining the wage system isn't all that useful imho
