Now that winter break has started, I’ve begun my brainstorming for nonfiction genrefication of our nonfiction books in our #schoollibrary. I do love to have a goal ahead of me! My para is not nearly as excited 😂. I love having a #mission ahead - especially one that involves #books. I just finished reading #TheFiftySevenBus because I had a parent & a teacher tell me to remove it from the #schoollibrary because of inappropriate topics & language. Well, this book is an excellent #nonfiction true telling of a #hatecrime incident & takes an intelligent look at both #homophobia & the #JusticeSystem. There is nothing at all wrong with having this #book in middle schools & high schools, & anyone attacking it & wanting it banned is either homophobic, racist, or hasn’t even read it.

We are moving the #schoollibrary into a portable for the next few years so that they can build a new building and then renovate the space that the library will move back into.

The last time I helped to move a library it was a lot different. Plans, strategy and outside people packing and unpacking boxes. This time we have to manage it in our own team.
