Well, on the flip side I suport them 100%. If we do not take this seriously very soon (banning cars, stop flying, banning AC use etc) there won't be any "art" to enjoy anyway as we'll have destroyed civilisation.

In seeing some of the comments in this thread... saying it distracts from the efforts of real or serious climate activists, is there any such thing yet ? Has anyone seen the Keeling Curve, no nations anywhere on the planet is taking any of this seriously. Australia is particularly repugnant. Our climate polices are sops to noe-liberialsm, with no basis in what needs doing and our voters keep voting for politicians that enable the horror to continue.

We can do without all the art in the world, we can not do with out a livable biosphere

We care more about some paint and canvas then we do about human life,: homeless, heath care, food shortages etc. We'll house artworks in massive museums, climate controlled and let children in Yemen or Ethiopia die every day. I'd rather we used the museum to house the homeless

If it's 50,000 yr old art, we don't seem to give a shit though of course, Scarborough Project etal

Vandalising works of art isn’t going to get my support for these particular climate activists. I’m already well & truly on board re climate change. I’ve taught students about it, I’ve marched to support school strike for climate & I do what I can as an individual. I also love art. These people are drawing attention to themselves, not the cause.

@Essjax individual actions will have less impact than government or corporate ones too. My choice of power for a private vehicle has less impact than my submissions and lobbying in support of sustainable public transport. It's worth practicing sustainability on a personal level but to put more energy into promoting bigger solutions, and to encouraging others to think about it too. I love the young people in for trying to save our planet.
