I slept like garbage last night and I woke up screaming “my #sciatica!” Hurray!

Anyone who's suffered from sciatica (trapped nerve in lower back causing pain down the back and leg) have any tips?

I'm on Ibuprofen and have a heat pack on my back, and I'm trying to stay mobile.

In addition to the whole autoimmune flare up that is causing everything to simultaneously hurt and itch, my sciatica is also pretty much unbearable at this point. Every nerve between my sacral lumbar and my toes is aflame.

I would just like to live like a normal person. It would be so great to have a pain baseline of 0, rather than between 2 and 4 on any given "good" day. (Or, 8, today...)

Physiotherapist booked, after another night of #sciatica pain, (she will yell at me for not walking enough, I know I need to, but I need my crunchy back and hips fixed a bit first, then I can start stretching.)

Can anyone with #sciatica tell me if those weird little chair cushions actually work?

A better #Sciatica day. Managed to walk inside for 5 minutes. Might not sound much but it's the most in over a month. Seeing the world vertically again for a few minutes rather than being on the ground crawling.like a baby. Getting stir crazy, craving a walk outside.

Cycled for the first time in several weeks yesterday after suffering sciatica in my right leg. Did 12 miles. Sciatica's improving - five weeks ago I couldn't walk. I asked my osteopath if I could cycle and she said it'd probably be ok.

Guess what I discovered? Cycling is easier and less painful than walking! Without exercise I've added a few pounds (~15) so I just need to get back into shape now - at my age that's a struggle... #cycling #sciatica

Tight #piriformis. Definitely not #sciatica. Pain along #hamstring, especially at the top and under glute, sometimes groin.

I do some stretching that my #physio has recommended.

Any experience, in terms of how long that lasts?

Part of my permanent recovery from #sciatica and a herniated disk was to give up setting in conventional chairs at work.

For about a decade, I've been sitting on a yoga ball at work. This helps with both strength and flexibility.

But it turns out these are not compatible. If #cats tries to climb thee ball with calls, you can quickly drop out the frame of a Zoom call.

A cloth ball covers solves that and is more comfy to sit on anyway. Problem solved!
