Installing Whisper (and similar) isn't the easiest, since they try to be too clever and do a lot automatically - the post also discusses the challenges and solutions.

Sitting is someone's vehicle and watching their electronic navigatior. It doesn't give an indication of which way is North. People lose the ability to keep their own frame of reference and ability to stay oriented (and get more dependent on technology?).

Painting over screws and movable joints always annoys me: for short term (cosmetic?) purposes, you lose the ability to maintain and upgrade later. And everything needs maintenance if we want to reuse it as much as possible.

1) The few people who are using a computer cluster wrong and need a bit of help from us.
2) The many people who need a cluster, but aren't using it because of all the usability barriers we put up to avoid (1), that we don't see?

Around here we use the team for those who use computing for science, but are more interested in the computing side: so including #HPC, #data/#ResearchData, #RSEeng, perhaps #OpenScience too, etc. I use the tag/abbreviation #SciComp for this - does anyone else identify with this term/abbrev/tag?

I know of HPC stuff at hpc.social, but haven't seen as much about RSE more specifically. I know of @us_rse @de_rse and @nordic_rse (someday), but it's not very organized yet.
