I'm most sorry to hear that the #SCoPEd framework has been adopted by #BACP #UKCP and others. I think it embeds modality politics and further structurally disempowers those already power down in society while providing no benefit for clients.

I voted against The National Counselling Society adopting #SCoPEd because it's detrimental to therapy, clients and therapists. It's exclusionary of anything that isn't cis, white, het etc. It creates a hierarchical system that elevates the medical model of psychotherapy, the antithesis of trauma work. Oppressed groups suffer trauma. #SCoPEd #NCS #trauma #psychotherapy

Were you saying the BACP directory is where people tend to locate you most often? A number of people appear to say that.

On that other note, I've found NCS ralatively nuanced and capable of entertaining critical perspectives on #ScoPEd, in a way I've not witnessed elsewhere.

I don't know whether any UK #counsellors and #psychotherapists here are NCS members pondering #ScoPEd? I feel conflicted about it. I accept A framework is a good idea but THIS framework looks like a bad one
