Our part of Glen Loy is called Erracht - the "meeting place" in Scots Gaelic.

The story of this large stone, now built into an old cairn, is that it was the competition stone used when the five septs of the Cameron clan gathered here.

What the competition involved, I don't know. Presumably just lifting the thing would be challenge enough!
