The #Kelvingrove Art Gallery has a splendid collection of works by the Scottish Colourists, including one of my favourites, The Orange Blind by Francis Cadell, a very moving but restrained depiction of loss and estrangement.

Reading about the #ScottishColourists this morning, one of the things that has struck me (having also recently been looking at a book on #Fauvism) is that while books on the SCs invariably mention their links to (& influence by) the Fauvists, books on Fauvism seldom if ever mention even the key Scottish Colourist John Duncan Fergusson. Not sure whether this is because the SCs seem more important in the UK than more widely, some category policing or just parochialism?
