It being the school half-term and reasonable weather, I decided to make my first trip of the year out of the city to climb up to the beautiful Loch Skeen in the hills above Moffat. Well worth the effort!

Despite the heavy frost in Glasgow itself, the mountains remain surprisingly snow-free.

Alan Dawson, who created the original list in 1992, has now reduced the lower limit to a round 600m. This increases the number of hills by 9 to a total of 231. The name Grahams comes from Fiona Graham, who compiled a similar list later on in 1992.
