Labour have decided to outsprint the populist right. The latest suggestion is to evict families if their children do not 'cooperate' on knife crimes. The usual populist thing - eye catching, simple, unworkable. They should concentrate on the roots of knife crime and improving policing. But this is their solution. They should look at the Glasgow initiative for a pointer (that would require learning from Scotland, a NoNo).

@andrewsharpe Indeed, when you look at many of the smaller countries, they are doing very well in the EU and their presence as in independent voices strengthens the EU. And if one considers the bottom line, i.e. money, Ireland has the highest predicted GDP in Europe next year 😀

Scotland now has no democratic legal path to independence. A legal referendum now requires the consent of MPs that the people of Scotland do not elect.
That is not democratic. We are no longer in a voluntary union of equals.
