Alas, the other thing the rains have brought is overflowing drains. Not pleasant. The number of non-flushable wet wipes chucked down the toilet by morons really doesn't help; there's a lot of them on the path.

I went to the seaside yesterday, but since I have an open cut on my foot I didn't risk going for a paddle. The #ScottishWater might be less #sewage than down south of the border in the uncivilised lands, but I'm still taking no chances.

It’s just that people - and yes, I do mean ordinary people - haven’t taken and don’t take it seriously. So yesterday woke up to no mains water. It being Christmas Eve I fully expected to be without water for a week or more. But before 6pm we are on an emergency supply.. thanks #ScottishWater and all you hard workers! Here's a picture of someone visiting this morning to wish everyone a happy Christmas.

There are a string of water towers around Glasgow, this is the one in Drumchapel. These structures are visible from all over the city and are elegant examples of concrete construction where form closely follows function.
