Each of the Sixes did their suggestions at the last Meeting, the sandwich filling in the bread of my “fun” activities.

Now I have make them into something to put on the Scout Hut wall for them follow.

And should count towards Module 15 validation.

The (apparent) answer to my question, as to whether my Scout Group is the oldest in the area, is that it isn’t, based on the search results showing the numbers that come before it numerically are still attached to other local Groups. This doesn’t surprise me.

What is more fascinating is that AFTER our Group there are some increasingly bigger gaps numerically. I’d seen some larger numbers previously and this is what initially sparked my interest.

Does anyone know if there’s a resource that lists the names of all the UK Scout Groups, active and inactive, and any name changes?

I’m wondering whether my Scout Group is the oldest in the area. It’s certainly the lowest numbered I’ve heard of around here.

This was in an email earlier this week.

It’s lovely that they’ve made Scout badges for adults. The badge wording makes out like it’s for volunteers with connections to children, but it also works for non-volunteers too.

My (slight) issue is that some of us aren’t parents, grandparents or carers, & would like to be. It may press some people’s buttons simply by, unintentional, omission.

Also, if it’s intended for volunteers, where’s the version that says “Leader” or “Volunteer”? #ScoutingUK ⚜️

I said I was puggled after Saturday. It was, to an extent, a turn of phrase. Certainly compared to what I did this early this afternoon.

The Scout Hut entrance area and steps needed a bit of a tidy. So I decided to do it. Rather pleased with it.

I was on flag duty a few times.

Had a colourful afternoon.

I only went to say hello and have a look around, but I ended up helping for a few hours.

Got a loan of a necker and hat, they were prepared, naturally. Particularly grateful for the latter as I needed sun protection.

Met some familiar faces and some new ones, including the District Commissioner.

Our Cub Leader just dropped off my uniform shirt.

We had a quick natter (quick as it was raining) and decided between us to have my Investiture at the 1st Meeting instead of the 4th. 😀

Do any of you use the Activities/Games on the Scouts UK website regularly?

I want to have something extra for Welcoming new Cubs just in case there’s a gap. Key word searches aren’t the best, and neither are the Filters on the Scouts UK website.

I’ve got a few things in mind from there and other sources already, but I’d rather be overprepared.

I’ve went from ZERO woggles to 13! They aren’t all for me though.

You may notice 2 of those in the photos you don’t see the front. That’s simply because they are personalised with names.

The Scout Law one I got made up for me. The remaining 10 are from their Lucky Dip. You get “samples of woggles on this site, over production, unpaid orders or slight seconds”. You don’t know what you are going to get, but you get 10 for £3. Exciting!

The primary purchase from Scoutadelic.com was the Campfire Song Book. I bought the others because a) I wanted them and b) it made the postage more worthwhile proportionally, the Song Book is a bargain.

Was reading about a game for #Cubs last night, for the first night of term, a getting to know each other type of game, and I couldn’t think of a suitable alliterative word to go with my First Name! (The Leaders are meant to play too.) My mind was completely blank.

Even this morning, nothing. I actually had to look up a list of adjectives to kickstart my brain! Funnily enough, I came up with one that wasn’t on the list, so that worked.😆
