La Saint Fiacre c'est le maire qui mange des saucisses dans une barquette en polystyrène avec l'évêque, c'est des #scouts d'Europe de 8 ans en chemise bleue, béret et short en velours côtelé qui essaient de vendre des calendriers, mais c'est aussi un défilé de chars fleuris auquel plein de communes et d'associations participent.

Cette année le tournesol peint avait la cote.

Yup, another book for #Scouting.

I know there is training provided by #Scouts for many of these things I’m buying books for, or others could mentor me (which would be great), but I don’t think you can have too much information.

And I’m enjoying getting into all these things, or even more so for those I had a cursory interest in previously. Fires don’t come into that latter category.

A while ago I bought a slightly damaged & incomplete, but otherwise great condition, cool-bag backpack/chair from a charity shop. (Incomplete = The chair was missing.)

Today I repaired the small slit hole on the side by using an iron-on badge I got as part of a recent larger purchase. I decided to add another badge to balance it out. I’m really pleased with it.

There’s a certain symmetry to the fact I used Scout badges to repair a backpack I bought to use for #Scouts (to carry food).

Tag zwei ist fast vorbei. Nachdem wir alle heute Nacht ziemlich gefroren haben ist der Aufbau nun abgeschlossen. Wetter war heute richtig warm und perfekt für den Aufbau. Apparently all of the #scouts from #Norway were also evacuated to US #military bases. "Some 700 scouts from the Scandinavian country took part in the event and they were to be relocated to a U.S. military base" #WorldScoutJamboree
