And my quilt top is done! 80.5 x 82” in the end. I don’t have backing, so it’s going on the TBQ pile while I start a new quilt tomorrow that I’m also very excited for

This one took so much longer than I thought it would, but who’d have predicted us needing a new HVAC right in the middle of the project? Glad both are finished!

I am — slowly and carefully — removing the solid blocks from the giant fish outline and replacing them with small pieced fish blocks. It’s a lot of work to take on when the top was so close to being finished, but i think it’ll be worth it in the end

Both sections are done-ish now. I don’t hate this quilt but I’m not in love with it either. There’s some fixes needed, and I’m not sure if the borders I have planned will work. I’m going to forge ahead tho at least through the weekend — I’ve had worse turn into better

A little disappointed that the school of fish doesn’t read more as one giant fish; pretty sure it’s because the background is so scrappy. My thought is when I’m quilting to maybe quilt in additional fish shapes? Also, those lighter top/bottom triangles around the blue fish need to go - I’ll change them to darker fabrics before it’s done

I do not know how this happened but I inset a partial setting square that was laying around here as scrap, just to see if I needed to go smaller or bigger, and the letters ended up fitting EXACTLY — this was all luck and no skill and I’m happy but stunned too

My Modern Handcraft Snowflake #Quilt is finished! Right before I break for the holiday 😅 (literally, the oven just dinged)

With the larger squares and the extra columns/rows, the top ended up 77” x 98” so even if it shrinks a bit during quilting, it should be large enough to cover our sliding glass door

I went slightly larger with the squares on this Snowflake #Quilt and now that I’m towards the end, I realize it is *almost* big enough to be curtains for our sliding glass door — just need 12” more length. 2 more rose rows top and 2 spruce rows bottom is my first (slightly boring) thought but I’d welcome additional suggestions

Mint fabrics were still being prewashed, so I skipped to the bottom section of the Snowflake #Quilt. I can’t believe how quickly everything is coming together — I knew this would be a fun little in-between project, but it’s pretty easy and fast too

4-color scrappy Snowflake #Quilt continues… this shade of pink has been a challenge. I had to replace a # of squares once it was on the design wall because they were too pink; then I added a bunch that were too peach. After digging deep in my stash (some of this is 20yo JoAnn; not sure how it’ll hold up) this is the best I could come up with
