Because of the #MaunaLoa eruption and lava flows, the #CO2 measurement equipment that maintains the famous #Keeling Curve lost power on Nov. 28 and is not currently recording data.

@MartinStendel This raised a question as to other sites where atmospheric carbon dioxide measurement data are collected. I searched and found a number Scripps (at range of latitudes) use for flask based collection; rather than continuous measurement as at Mauna Loa. But there is at least one other continuous measurement station (Baring Head in NZ). So we won’t be blind data wise, but it is concerning to see even a brief break in Mauna Loa’s iconic data series. #maunloa #scripps

I am from #Luxembourg and studied organic #chemistry at UCLouvain in Belgium. After post-docs at #Scripps and #ETHZürich, I started working for a big CDMO in Valais, Switzerland.
