@illusionofjoy I've also been a #scrutineer in many elections and the vast majority of votes are cast validly: the ones that aren't are mostly defaced or left blank, so not resulting from confusion.

There are also sensible "savings provisions" so that, for example, if there are 5 candidates and a ballot has one to four on it and the fifth box is blank, it gets counted.

It's also very rare for a candidate not in the top three after first preferences to win.

It's a good #voting system IMHO.
