First day of a new season. At varsity practice this morning we launched three 1xs including one para-boat, a 2x and the men were out in an eight.

Good row in brutal heat.

1st Novice practice is today at 5pm. Rock Chalk!

Progress on the boat trailer renovation. Slow going but I think it's going to look great. Primer is going on in sections now because yesterday's rain had already started rusting the part we had just cleaned.

If we can get KU to change colors to Deep Terra Cotta & Blue we can just prime it and we're done!
I'm hearing votes for red from the team though.

#sculling how wrong is it to attach a coffee cup holder to your boat... I mean really, totally additive in my opinion. Perfect place for a sip of espresso.

Late morning row. 4x Bluewater. 3 trips, 2 regatta pieces and some exercises. Tired legs from yesterday. Gorgeous weather, sunshine but cool air. #rowing #sculling

Friday #rowing on the Wear. 4x Bluewater. Warm-up thirty stroke pieces and two regatta pieces. Wild swimmers out although upstream of the club and with floats. I prefer being on top of the water, too much growth this time of year. #sculling

Rest day. Gentle rehab paddle for our regular stroke, me steering a 2x through Brown's pleasure boats, bathers, crocodiles and canoes. A few bumps but no damage done. Steering and #sculling is hard work. #rowing

Monday rowing session out waking the swans. 4x Bluewater. Warm up, builds back up then 2x regatta pieces. Timing is getting better and when it works we have plenty of power even at 34/36 SPM. Cooler than yesterday, watched over by a Heron and a glimpse of a kingfisher. #rowing #sculling

A couple of trips in a single on a cool dry evening. A glimpse of a kingfisher between dodging college boats practicing for BUCS. First time out in "Wild Thing" had to adjust my feet half way. #sculling #rowing

2x short outing. Plenty of water making the trip back to the club a bit of a workout. #sculling #rowing

Two trips in a double (2x #sculling #rowing ) My first time steering a double in quite a while. No one died. Three weeks to Durham city regatta and we are missing stroke. Time for plan B (there is no plan B).
