Hey there! This is an account I created for an #opensource #pointandclick #adventure game engine I'm working on, called KIAVC. The name is a homage to #SCUMM, as it's a rough Neapolitan translation of the English word 😅
I'm not a game developer, and I'm doing this for fun in my spare time, but it's been an amazing learning experience so far already. I hope I'll find people interested in tinkering with it and/or share feedback!

I've been going through old hdd images and looking for fun stuff to post. I found a doozy today and I've put it up on github. Back in 1990 I was hired at #LucasArts and given the task of maintaining and building new tools for the #SCUMM system. Long story cut-short here is a #Win32 port of the #DOS tool named #DK. This was used to bring the #MonkeyIsland #VGA 256 color art down to 32 colors for the #Amiga. In any case I thought people should have chance to see it.

You can tell there was a lot of flux happening in the iMUSE engine during Sam & Max development by looking at the demos.
Early demos used DOTT-style .IMS drivers with an in-built iMUSE engine.
Later demos used the .MDR real mode drivers with an external engine.
And demos based off the talkie release used .MSD protected mode drivers.

Eh bah ce matin, j'ai aussi implémenté un équivalent de #iMUSE, le moteur sonore des vieux #LucasArts qui permettait de faire varier la musique en douceur selon l'endroit où se trouvait le personnage. C'est pas grand chose, mais c'est top pour créer des ambiances.
