@globalmuseum #AltText 2300-year-old #Scythian woman’s #boot preserved in the frozen ground of the #Altai Mountains. In the foreground is the sole, which has a red background and some type of small protuberances around the perimeter. Inside that perimeter are one small and two large diamond shapes, which have gray, roughly rectangular pieces lined up in them. The side of the boot is quite textured and has some swirls. The upper half of the boot seems less well preserved.

I'm really impressed that #Princeton University Press had the nerve to publish, The #Scythian Empire: Central #Eurasia and the Birth of the #ClassicalAge from #Persia to #China. The worst edited book ever published by a university press! They should be embarrassed. At first I was so fascinated with the thesis I overlooked a great deal, but it just became too much. The research is based as much on presumption as actual historical data. What a joke. #books #bookstodon #editing #history #histodons

Here I demonstrate that I am only vaguely aware of what a goat looks like. Mucking about building a scythian style rhyton drinking vessel. Yikes and lols all rolled into proudly ashamed of this.
