They really got the fun of the hip hop battle. It also shows the importance of leadership and group cohesiveness in organizing dances, and Wang Yibo does it so effortlessly. He has won the show multiple time. #WangYibo

In Street Dance of China 5, Wang Yibo isn't dancing as much as he did in previous seasons, and it makes me sad because I love to watch him dance.

@dani Yep. The party leadership was suspending people they thought weren't manly enough, and SDOC glorifying Hiphop which was American Based was already skating on thin ice.
Go look at AC's look in season 3. Then season 5. Obvious.

She says she's making a China and masculinity vid, and I am really interested in her take because of what happened recently with Street Dance of China. So SDOC is a hiphop dance show filmed in China but season 4 got interrupted by this big wave of cancelling "girly men" by the government and at least one of the dancers had to get an extreme make over during the show to stop him from looking too Girly. In season 5 he wears black and tries not to look to effeminate, and it hurts my soul #sdoc

There used to be dance shows on US TV like American Bandstand and Soul train back in the ancient of days. In the late 80s and 90s they switched to dance movies, and although they are iconic, they lack the spontaneity of live dance shows. That is why I love Street Dance of China. A mostly hiphop dance show with so much energy. Season 4 (the pandemic season) was my favorite, but this years is good too. Take a look. In thread.
