I can’t decide if I love #seafile or not. One one hand it’s the fastest file syncing program in the land. For many small files it’s literally 100x faster than Nextcloud. On the other hand I see weird programing choices and bad UI everywhere.
Tatsächlich, habe ich in der Früh falsch gelesen, hast völlig Recht!
Habe mich schon gewundert😉
Klappt prima.
Der Anbieter #luckycloud nutzt übrigens ebenfalls #seafile
@andruwa13 наврядчи клієнту сподобається щось інше, бо багато років вони саме їм користувались, але як сервіс. Про #Seafile не чув, треба буде подивитися. Дякую
@sharedmuffins I've been tinkering with #Seafile for the file hosting / link sharing functionality. Long-time user and fan of #Syncthing!
@Trollinger Das ist ja gerade das schöne an #onlyoffice , es lässt sich sehr gut in #seafile und #nextcloud integrieren

Nutze #onlyoffice seit 2018 auf meinen Homeserver.
#nextcloud #seafile #onlyoffice
Thanks for sharing on Mastodon, I had a quick look, makes a very good impression. Have another tip for you, check out #seafile, it has become a daily companion for me. I compared #seafile with #nextcloud, for me Seafile is the better choice.

Please keep up the good work, I am very convinced of your work. Compared #cloudron with #yunohost and found that you do the job better.

huh. Wasn't prepared for #NextCloud not actually having a working virtual drive solution on Linux when I migrated from #Seafile. My workstation just ran out of disk space ...
Can't really understand all the comments from the team why there isn't one either - plenty of other similar software have overcome FUSE limitations in their implementations.
@chihuamaranian I've been enjoying #FreshRSS for RSS recently.
I'm currently moving away from #Seafile (similar to NextCloud, but maybe more focused) because I didn't like how it locked up my files in its own custom file archive format. I had to find a random script by someone who reverse engineered their format to recover from a crash.
From now on, any file storage/sharing solution I use is going to be based on plain ol' files. No databases, no opaque custom file blobs. My #Seafile -based file server bit the dust and as part of it my backups weren't fully working so now I have a bunch of presumably correct mystery blobs, but the application database is out of date, leaving the app thoroughly confused. Granted, I should have made an extra copy of the DB before rebuilding.
6th semester into a #bachelor #degree and the only form of #collaboration fellow students know is sending #msword documents to eachother preferably via WhatsApp 🙈🤣 - welcome to #university of #Trier, they offer #Seafile #O365 but no licence for #onedrive, so students revert to Google Drive & Docs to collaborate 🤷🏻♀️

I decided to retire #Nextcloud in favor of #Seafile. The only feature of Nextcloud I ever used was the cloud storage. Seafile offers this with lower latency and higher performance. I don't need all the collaborative features, the only users are me and my dad.
#nextcloud #seafile #selfhosting
@RockyC The app that fundementally changed how I even use cloud-based software is #syncthing.
FOSS, on literally everything and syncs any folder to any folder anywhere, on any system that is also running syncthing.
The files on my phone are the files on my server are the files on my Desktop and some of those files are on my Android TV and some of them are on my Linux #handheld, one changes, they all change.
Archive your big stuff to samba or a #Nextcloud or #Seafile instance and keep your immediate stuff ~5GB in Syncthing.
#syncthing #handheld #NextCloud #seafile
Does anyone have experience with #NextCloud or #Seafile? I'm looking to move away from Dropbox, and need something that works reliably with a fairly large amount of data (1-2tb) and multi gigabyte files. Needs to work with Mac and iOS (although I think iOS can access SFTP natively through the Files app, which might be fine.)
@wasabipesto @LivInTheLookingGlass instead of #Nextcloud you could give #OwnCloud Infinit Scale or #Seafile a shot. Both are simple file hosting solutions without thousands of plugins to convert them into a bloated workspace.
