Once we were hands-on, #drawing & #carving brought recognition & enhanced appreciation of many small details. (It's embarrassing how much I overlooked when just looking.) Today whilst metal detecting near Whitchurch in Hampshire, I found this early medieval seal, probably of John Petride, who used it to wax seal documents sometime in the 14th Century!
