#Searx is no longer maintained, but #SearXNG is.

La v2 a été une refonte totale de zoTop. Gros travail : passage de Searx à #SearXNG, mais aussi installation de notre propre serveur #Gitea pour rendre les sources disponibles bien qu'on ne modifie que légèrement l'aspect visuel pour l'intégration dans notre site : https://gitea.zaclys.com/

L'avantage c'est que maintenant on peut aussi proposer des serveurs Gitea ? ... Hummm... À voir ;)

Tout ça pour dire, merci pour vos remarques, on corrige les petites choses et on devrait être pas mal.

zoTop.fr connaîtra une petite interruption, le temps de passer en v2 :blobcatcheer:

My “I don’t like Google LLM-based search results” ended up with me running #SearXNG in my #homelab.

I’ve ran a handful queries and so far it’s all good.

I haven’t set it up yet but I kind of like the idea of adding local search API like #MeiliSearch

I copied and pasted my google.py module for @bobbit to implement a new searxng.py module.

During testing, ran into #SearXNG rate limitor and bot detection... 🤦‍♂️

Fortunately, I was able to add @bobbit's IP address to the pass limit and now the module works!

A few updates on our new https://searx.ndlug.org

* I managed to customized the theme a bit... it's hacky, but it allows for wider results

* I setup a docker-compose.yml to spin up both #SearXNG and #redis, so it could do rate limiting!

* I had to wrestle with #nginx to figure out how to pass the appropriate proxy information

* I enabled HTML, JSON, and CSV formats... which could come in handy for teaching :]

It is now good enough for me to use as my default search engine!

I don't think I've ever stuck with a non-google search engine for so long as #searxNG now. It works just fine.

@sleepybisexual in terms of privacy duckduckgo is good but their results aren't that great, in my opinion #startpage , #bravesearch , #whoogle and #searxng are far better in both privacy and results.

@Catweazle I know, and I shouldn't help them with that by using them for #search. I would opt to use #Searx or #SearXNG but their #YunoHost packages seem to have issues. I could use someone else's instance, but it defeats the idea of having my own self-hosting solution.

Is there something about #SearXNG on #YunoHost I'm missing? Saving selected engines takes me back to my YunoHost portal.
