Those perfectly round holes in shells on the beach? They could be from moon snails (Conuber sordidum). These sneaky predators hunt in intertidal muddy sand flats, feeding on bivalves, gastropods & even soldier crabs! 

Using their muscular foot, moon snails trap their victim before drilling a hole in their shell with their tongue-like structure called a radula. Then, they slurp up their live prey through the hole. Sneaky!
