Three years ago, if you’d asked me to name some animals found in rockpools, I sure as heck wouldn’t have mentioned sea squirts. Now, they’re one of my favourite animals and at West Runton, there’s at least 10 different species! This one is Sidnyum turbinatum.

Oh the colours in this photo! Another favourite from my dock fouling experience in Plymouth. I found this colonial sea squirt Botrylloides violaceus in several different colours at this location.

Sea squirt on sea squirt! I think what we’re seeing here is the colonial sea squirt Diplosoma listerianum covering a solitary sea squirt Ciona intestinalis. From a marina in Plymouth.
