While I was away camping I see I hit 200 followers here. Neat! I try not to get too caught up in the numbers of things, but considering here I have found people to be genuinely interested in my work and music it is fun to see that many folks following along.

Tales of Werewolf Cheeseburgers was the first music I made after being away from the process for 12 years. Thank you anxiety and depression.

This compilation from Eiderdown Records has some great stuff on it plus it is a fundraiser to help Andrew Crawshaw who runs Broken Press in Seattle and just had a major heart surgery which is keeping them from being able to work. Andrew also runs SFI Recordings and does a lot for the Seattle music scene.

I really like using the Roland SP404 mk2 for experimental music and improvised performance. As someone who also enjoys the hip-hop and beat centered music that is typically done on the device it is fun to try and use it in something that I don't come across others doing.

Something I tried recently with my SP404 was to record some chords played on my keyboard with the piano sound into four of the pads. This gave me something fun to create some different progressions with.

Then I applied effects with Bus 1 and 2 in serial to have 4 effects in a chain for re-sampling to other pads where I applied different effects for re-sampling those again.

During this process i was pitching and slowing down the samples to create more pad like sounds over just keys with a short attack and release.

It was fun to stack things and take the generic keyboard piano sound and turn it into something brooding and dark.

As I think about my musical goals I realize that I do want to build it up some. For awhile I was telling myself that I just wanted to create and share my works whether people listen or not. But, the truth is that I do want to build it up some. I don't want to become some big name and tour (though I do want to play shows) and do all of that. But, I would like to develop a "following" of sorts and be able to fund some things with what I make from music and I think that's okay.
Like, I would to be able to set up a pre-order for a new release and generate enough money to have 25 or 50 copies of a tape made and mail them out without losing money and breaking relatively even.
