My sure-fire tip for getting past #SecondSockSyndrome in #knitting:
Start that second sock *immediately* after finishing the first. The same goes for sleeves.
The second sock (or sleeve) always seems to knit up much faster than the first, but not if you allow yourself to start anything else.
Dropped into #bendigowoollenmills last week and found this gorgeous #variegated #purple 100% #australian #merino #wool #8ply #yarn. Being in the #bargain section, the three balls they had were it, and so not enough to make a #handknit #jumper (#sweater ) or #cardigan without playing #yarnchicken, so fell back to my default of #knitting #socks. Being so sidt, thick and #lush, they'll be perfect for my friend, Laura, who finds the bitter #chill of #winter in #Victoria almost unbearable.
They're knitting up very quickly on my #KnitPro #Zing #Interchangeables using #magicloop #2atatime (to avoid SSS - #SecondSockSyndrome) and the #fishlipskiss sock #pattern.
I suspect these will be the first of many I'll be knitting.

Oh I so agree. I like knitting two socks at a time but on separate needles like you. You can actually make it into a bit of a game if you are so minded :-)
I actually wrote a blogpost about this a while ago:

@katpesk @knitting @WestCoastChelle In my case I did it once, just to try it, and to see if it would help reduce #SecondSockSyndrome. I felt it was just way too fiddly and I couldn’t watch tv while I worked. Now if I’m on a deadline I’ll just cast on both socks on separate needles. Work sock A cuff then sock B cuff. Sock A leg sock B leg, etc.
#knitting #startitis #SecondSockSyndrome I have two sweaters that have been on the needles for an embarrassingly long time. I am thiiiis close to finishing mitts for my cousin. So, of course, I spent yesterday's knitting time trawling my yarn stash for Just The Right Yarn for a shawl pattern just gifted to me instead of finishing off Second Thumb. At least i didn't swatch or cast on, right? Tonight I was too braindead and so did basic colored pencil stuff. Tomorrow, thumb. Tomorrow, we end this.
