I found mindfulness at about year five. I had about quit going to traditional #AA meetings, even tho' it had worked and I was sober, the god thing was creeping me out.
Also found #SecularAA about then, which now has hundreds of meetings worldwide; our little Wed./Sat. group regularly gets folks from 3 continents on Zoom. ANY belief welcome, but no proselytization. Wonderful!
Any addiction welcome, too, most meetings.

@HeartlandLiberal Over the past few years, a thing now called #SecularAA has been growing up. Originally to just get the god out of the game, secular meetings are now exploring all sorts of new and scientific subject matter.
Traditional #AA sort of hates us, since they have mostly canonized the Big Book and taken it fully into Christianity. That's OK, they do their thing, we do ours. All addicts welcome, mostly.

This will rock some socks off in traditional AA: The Secret Diaries of Bill W. by bob k. Bob is a very good writer and an expert in the history of AA. This fictional biographical look at Bill W. is so well done you have to keep reminding yourself it's not really Bill talking! And it is well researched, there is no wild speculation here. It is a great read!

@DamienMarieAtHope I had trouble with the word until I read this somewhere: "Atheism is a religion like not collecting stamps is a hobby." It helped put the whole "simply nothing there" thing in perspective.
