One big instance being sold by an admin to a corporation or a company doesn't make idea of Mastodon bad. It makes the admin crooked, especially if (s)he did it without warning the userbase.

Still, Mastodon is fantastic - you can always start your own server and enjoy the benefits of no ads, no algorithm and chronological feed. That's why I've stayed.
