exceptional #sefaria source sheet on #trans people in the #torah https://www.sefaria.org/sheets/125838?lang=bi
#Sefaria updated their iOS & iPadOS app and it is much better! Closer to the web experience (personally I almost exclusively use the app so this is a good thing for me). Iām not a power-user but the UX feels much better.
Something I will say is that I really like that #Sefaria provides Hebrew and English next to each other. It feels like they're symbolically telling you that you can check the text if you want. I feel like monolingual translations of Scripture are very much "you should take our word for it".
Have you heard about the amazing new Jewish texts available this year on Sefaria?

Was just about to open #Sefaria to look up some Torah texts.
Then decided that #NittelNacht isn't one of the customs I need to rebel against š Torah study will wait.
A Git Nittel you all!
#Nittel Nacht is a traditional custom of some communities (who lived in Christian majority countries for 1,000+ years) - not to learn any sacred text on the eve of December 24th (and/or January 6th for those who lived in Eastern Christian countries).

Walking along the road one day, he saw a man planting a carob tree. He said, "In how many years will it bear fruit?" The man replied, "In seventy years." He said, "Is it so clear to you that you will live seventy years?" The man replied, "I found the world with carob trees. Just as my ancestors planted for me, I too am planting for my descendants."
(Talmud, Taanit 23a)
