In case it helps:

What data brokers call "" is never meant to acknowledge what you self-identify as.

It's merely one harmful after the other slapped onto you. Harmful because its only purpose is to either extract more from you, or to exclude you from services if you're likely to not contribute to somebody else's earnings.

There are no "mostly harmless" labels, even when those that serve to exclude you are the worst.

"There are people in Italy who want to adopt a child. There are women in rural France who have lost their husbands. There are households in Germany that have to make ends meet on 1,000 euros a month. They all have something in common: know about them. Their personal characteristics help the advertising industry make money."

@hekr I hadn't seen before. That is really interesting and might work well for a spine project I am working on. :)

Excited about this paper (on which I am a collaborator) showing is possible with missing scans.

Given how loudly some people deny climate change, I was surprised just how widespread climate change awareness is in America. This creates a huge addressable market for climate solutions and action!

The pace of advancements in segmentation models is truly astounding! We might be closer to achieving zero-shot segmentation than we think!

Remember SAM from < week ago? Here's the 1st arXiv reference I have seen to it, a tech-report style paper.

Segment Anything Model (SAM) is a fast system to classify any object from any image without previous training automatically, and it works reasonably well on aerial imagery

Has anyone out there used TagLab for the analysis of underwater benthic imagery? Looks pretty sweet - taglab.isti.cnr.it/ - curious as to your experiences.

It is not often about the best model architecture, it is about the best training data. Compared DeepLabV3+ and U-net with Resnet50 backbone in a quick experiment, and got identical results.

Kudos to @HaroldGomezETH who developed the protocol. Harold, a trained computer scientist, quickly realised in his PhD that would become much easier if the data quality improved - and went to the lab himself to optimise the experimental technique.

Manual of brain tumor data is time-consuming. How can we use adaptive thresholding and histogram-based techniques to automate it?
