She was unconscious for 6 days, in the hospital and rehab for 26 days. She has been home a little over a week and I am so grateful. The cause is thought to be bacterial meningitis, though no disease organism was never identified. #meningitis #seizure #lucky

My son is so very strong. He faced the #surgery with grace and dignity, emerged full of life and humor, and the first question he asked was "Do I seem less intelligent?"
The biggest worry he has with his adult-onset #epilepsy is losing his ability to think. The frequent #seizure activity has impacted his #memory and his attention span, but he's as bright as ever. Here's hoping this #RNS device helps control the seizures - and gives him some respite.
