The problem with boomer shooter homages is that for how much I like them they're still competing with free mods that might be better than them. The best ones imo are the ones that evolve past Quake and Doom, like how #Selaco is more like F.E.A.R. than something such as Quake, as there hasn't been many games like F.E.A.R. thus it's free real estate.

I think it's kind of interesting that the one "boomer shooter" I'm looking forward to is essentially a paid GZDoom mod that plays nothing like Doom.

If I can find my capture card, I might fuck around next week and record myself playing the latest #Selaco demo on my 10 year-old PC just to prove this dude wrong.

Really hoping the increase of retro inspired FPS games start looking at using #gzdoom as its base engine like #Selaco and #BrutalFate. It's neat when you can make new engines be in the limits of the older technology, but it's even cooler when you just use existing tools to do this.

#Selaco demo 0.4 is pretty neat. Gamepad support works pretty well with an Xbox One controller.

I did find a few bugs during my playthrough, but today was just a casual playthrough. I'll re-play it tomorrow night and record it so that I can file some formal feedback when I'm done.
